Hero bans
- After each map selection, each team will choose two heroes to ban for the map. Each team can only ban one hero of each role. For example, if team A bans Jetpack Cat and team B bans Mercy, then you can be sure that no more supports will be banned.
- If you have already banned a hero this round, you cannot ban it again for subsequent maps in the round. For example, if team A bans Domina in game 1, then she will be available to play in the next 2 rounds (unless the enemy team also decides to ban her for another map).
- When both teams ban the same hero(es), only the heroes that the teams have been chosen will be banned. This means that if you and the enemy team collectively only ban 3 heroes, then those 3 heroes will be banned and no more.
- In addition, if both teams ban the same hero, that hero will be unbannable for the rest of the round (they will count toward both teams' ban quotas). So if both teams ban Sombra for game 1, she will be available for both game 2 AND game 3! Muhahahahaha! (this paragraph was sponsored by the sombra mains)
Hero bans are sent to the tournament organizer(s). Once both teams have submitted legal bans, they will be revealed simultaneously.
Map selection
All maps of the round are selected from a limited pool of 9 randomly selected maps.
- The same game mode cannot be chosen twice, unless there are no maps of another game mode available.
- When a map is chosen, that map is removed from the pool.
- Before the first game, there will be a coin flip. The team that wins the coin flip chooses the map.
- If the map is asymmetrical (Assault, Hybrid, Escort), then the team that didn't choose the map will choose their side (Attack / Defence) for the first game of the map.
- For game 2 and game 3, the losing team chooses the map.
- If a team doesn't want to choose a map, they may leave the choice to the other team.
All non-Stadium Overwatch maps will be available to play, including Assault maps.
Other rules
A team may forfeit the match if they wish.
